CHURCHFEST IS NEXT SUNDAY! On Sunday, September 10, we will gather for a potluck celebration at 11:15 on the front lawn. Bring a dish to share! We’ll have a bouncy house for the kids and some updates about the year to come. Make sure to be there for this great celebration and fellowship!A DROP-IN SIGN-UP EVENT FOR BOAR’S HEAD is scheduled for Sunday, September 10. Come to Grosse Ile Presbyterian Church any time between 2:00-5:00 p.m. to have a quick photograph taken for costume fitting, fill out an interest form, receive a master schedule of rehearsals and, for those who want a speaking part or solo, give a short audition. This event is for EVERYONE who wants to be a part of the Grosse Ile Boar’s Head Festival—even those who have signed up online. The Grosse Ile Boar’s Head Festival happens only once every 4-5 years. Make this year special by participating in Grosse Ile’s most vibrant festival of Christmas!

10AM SERVICES MOVE INSIDE beginning Sunday, September 10.

ENJOY A MOVIE AND A MEAL! The St. James Steeple Chasers are coordinating a meal and movie event this-coming Tuesday, September 5. Come and see “The Hill” at the MJR Theater on Trenton Road in Southgate at 10:45am. The ticket cost is only $5! Two hours and 6 minutes later we’ll all get a bite to eat at a local restaurant. Take a look at The Hill’s trailer video and, if your social calendar is clear, RSVP that you will come to The Hill, the local restaurant, or both, or just show up and meet us there. If you want to carpool, meet at the church at 10am. We hope to arrive at the theater lobby at 15651 Trenton Road around 10:20.  We’re still vetting local restaurants and haven’t made a decision yet, but we’ll let you know which one on Sunday!  Please RSVP by Monday night for the movie, the meal, or both. NEW TABLES! Check out the new 5-foot round tables in Galloway Hall! Thanks to several parishioners’ donations and funds from the whole church we have beautiful new tables in Galloway Hall that will be cozy to sit around. Plus it will be much easier to hear people speaking from across the table! Thank you to everyone for helping make this happen!

NEED COFFEE? ORDER NOW – Caf or Decaf, the Saint James Coffee Club is your source for 1/2 and 1 pound bags of freshly roasted coffee once a month. This Monday, September 4 is the day the Club’s monthly order will be called in, and by the end of the week your order will have been roasted, ground to your liking (or whole bean), bagged, shipped, and received.  Take a look around the CoffeeAM website, choose a coffee that speaks to you, and then let David Hartwell know by noon on Monday. Pay me when I deliver you your coffee on ChurchFest Sunday, September 10.  It’s that simple!  313 318-9009 cell / text
