FEATURES & ARTICLES

From the treasurer

A few words about the word “Capital”.  Please make it clear on every donation whether the cash or check you are giving should go to the General Fund, which pays all normal bills, to the regular “Crowley” capital improvements account or to the once-in-15 years “Renewal Fund” Capital Campaign. There has been confusion among the Counters, as well as some parishioners as to which capital account is which.  If the word “Capital” throws you off, think of them as the Crowley Fund and the Renewal Fund and leave out the word Capital altogether.  Thanks for all the great support during our sesquicentennial (150th) year.

🎵 🎶 🎶  MUSIC NOTES  🎵🎶🎶 🎵

Choir and bell choir is up and running! Please consider joining, all are welcome and it is a fun and exciting environment to sing, ring, and explore the rich history of church music. Bell Choir rehearses Thursdays at 6:30, and Vocal Choir rehearses

at 7:30 on Thursdays.

This morning’s musical point of interest: This morning we hear music from England, Russia, and France. Listen in particular to the two pieces at prelude, both of which are “minatures” from two very important composers during their time.

Upcoming Music Events:

May 10, 7PM: Celebrate the Ascension of Christ and St. James’ 150th Anniversary with a special evensong that evening! Featuring the St. James Choir and guests, as well as Doug and Carole Scott, this will be a moving night of music to remember! Music for the evening includes Byrd’s Preces, Responses, and Collects, Stanford’s Magnificat in G, and Bruckner’s Locus Iste. Don’t miss out!

May 19, 7:30PM: Our last music event of the year is going to be a blast, as violist Kalindi Bellach performs a recital of music by J.S. Bach, Shulamit Ran, and Paul Hindemit.
