Coffee Orders Due Tomorrow Since this Sunday is the first Sunday of the month, we will be calling in our coffee club order on Monday, January 6, Go to coffeeam.com to study the coffees. Before noon on Monday email dhartwell4@yahoo.com and let me (David Hartwell) know what I can order for you. To help coordinate the finer details of this dinner please speak with Fr. Phil or Blanche Hutchison our Senior Warden.

Thank You for Cookies: St. James’ Parishioners and Friends,

I would like to thank everyone who donated cookies for the Incarcersted Youth. I know you took time out of your busy schedules at the last minute to help us out. We were abundantly rewarded. My van was filled from front to back.

I worked at one of the parties. I saw so many young teenagers. As they walked through the line for cookies, their eyes were amazed and so thankful and humble. I was blessed that day.

Some of their prayers are “Grandmother’s health,” “Mom and brother safety,” “Be shown His purpose,” “Relationship with God,” “Forgive Father,” “Daughter and rest of family,” “Forgiveness and Patience,” Court date,” “See son and parents.”

Let us be thankful for the lives we have and pray for those who are “Locked Up-Not Locked Out of God’s Love and Protection.”

May you all be blessed in the New Year 2020, May God quiet you with His peace,

Comfort you with His presence, And bless you with His love.

Love and hugs, Sue Anderson
Psallite Concert — Some of us plan to go to this St. Tim’s Discovers concert in Perrysburg, Ohio on Sunday afternoon, January 12, maybe grabbing a bite to eat afterward.  If this road trip sounds like fun and you would like to carpool with us just let me know.

Listed below are some things that St. James would love to have, but the budget does not allow them at this time. If one of these items speaks to your heart, please make a donation toward the purchase. All partial gifts will be gratefully accepted and put toward the total cost. Also, if you see or think of something that should be on this list, please let us know at goodnews@saintjamesgi.net!

🎵 🎶 🎶  MUSIC NOTES  🎵🎶🎶 🎵

Upcoming Event:

Saturday, January 18, 2020  7:00 P.M. in the chapel.   “Music of Change”  The Grosse Ile Wind Quartet presents a program of music important to the civil rights movement and more.  This program is especially meaningful as it follows the observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Sunday, January 19, 2020  10:00 A.M. in the Main Church  The choir presents two significant musical offerings on this day from two separate Bach Cantatas – “The Only Son From Heaven,” which is the closing chorale from BWV 22 and is appropriate to the Gospel for that day, and the familiar “Jesu bleibet meine Freude” (Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring” which is also the closing chorale from BWV 147.  We will have guest musicians to appropriately accompany these two works. If you would like to sponsor the cost of the musicians as a thank-offering or memorial, please speak with Jim Johnson.

An Invitation for all pianists and instrumentalists…   If you would like to play one or more selections during the 10:00 A.M. worship service, please speak with our Minister of Music Jim Johnson.  As an inviting and inclusive community of worshipers, we want to give those with musical gifts the opportunity to participate in worship in such a way.
