MULCH MOVERS REJOICE! You made our grounds beautiful and our plantings safe. Thank you!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL is great for kids! Register online at www.saintjamesgi.net for this extraordinary summer program. It’s free to all and open to children potty-trained thru 5th grade. Older kids also register as VBS Youth Leaders. With crafts, science, stories, snacks, and singing we’ll have a blast looking at how we can all be “changemakers.” Don’t miss this exciting program held July 24-28 from 9:30-11:30am.

ADULT VBS VOLUNTEERS, reach out to Erin Shelton, Ann Peraino, or Fr. Phil to let us know you can help.

THE MONTHLY ST. JAMES COFFEE CLUB ORDER for fresh roasted coffee will be called in on Monday, July 3.  Coffees from all over the world are on the coffeeam.com website.  Buy 1/2 pound and 1 pound bags at Club prices as much as 30% less than the CoffeeAM prices.  Whole bean, or ground to your brewing preference — drip, French press, or espresso.  Order by noon Monday, pay on delivery — it’s that simple!  Email or text David Hartwell at dhartwell4@yahoo.com or 313-318-9009.

RECENT GRADUATES of high school, college, or other programs will be honored on Sunday, July 16, at the 10am service. If you have a recent graduate in your household, please reach out to the office with their name, a recent photo, and whether they will be present on July 16. Contact us at 734-676-1727 or goodnews@saintjamesgi.net

JUDY ALFORD has taken up residence in Monroe for the next several months as she recovers from an injury. She warmly welcomes visitors! Her address is 1236 S. Monroe St., Room# 519, Monroe, MI 48161. Her phone number remains the same: 313-806-0648

MORE MULCH FOR THE MEMORIAL GARDEN was delivered this week and placed by the playscape or the lychgate. Only half of the garden was mulched last week. Can you help mulch the other half?

SEERSUCKER SUNDAYS ARE COMING to Saint James — will you be ready for them?!  The wearing of seersucker to church is purely optional, so if you own some seersucker and want to wear it, terrific, but if you don’t own some seersucker, terrific too. Seersucker or no seersucker, see you in church!

ICE CREAM SUNDAYS are back! Following our summer 10am services look for the ice cream cart and tasty treats!

PLEASE PARTNER WITH ANOTHER HOUSEHOLD to facilitate an “Ice Cream Sunday” this summer after a 10am service. It involves doing 3 things: 1) Either before the service or after communion (take communion first), move some ice cream treats from the standup freezer in the middle rummage room into the cooler and the cart standing next to it. 2) Fill up a clear reservoir with ice water in the kitchen and place it on the cart with some paper or plastic cups. 3) Push the cart to the front parking lot at the end of the service and put it all away after 20 minutes or so. This is a HUGE SERVICE to all our members, plus the kids especially love it! Look for the sign-up calendar near the kitchen and thank you!

“INSPIRED” is our new book-group book. Read pp. 29-58 for this Thurs, July 6. We meet at 10:30am in the library.

“OUTDOOR WILDERNESS LIVING” (OWL) IS OFFERING free classes for kids of the congregation 10-17 years of age.  Contact Burdett Milkins 734-790-4942 for more information.

HANDY CRAFTERS UNITE Join us if you have any portable craft and want to share it with others: knitting, embroidery, calligraphy, etc. We’ll focus on our crafts and great fellowship. We meet monthly on the first and third Wednesdays, from 1pm-3pm at 8187 Grays Drive, #B1 in the Grays Village condos. Contact Mary Shelton at 734-215-5113 or mary@mshelton.net to reserve a seat.  Bring your own refreshments. Next Meetings: July 5 & 19.

SUNDAY SERVICES ARE RECORDED and posted in high quality on YouTube every Sunday afternoon. Check YouTube.com/saintjamesgi

WEEKLY “SAINT’S STORIES” SERVICES are held in the chapel on Wednesdays at 10:15am. An optional potluck lunch follows.

DEDICATE SUNDAY FLOWERS in memory of a loved one, perhaps on the date they died or on their birthday. There are several open dates available on the Flower Chart for 2023 located in the hallway near the office. The recommended donation is $50, which covers two arrangements used at the 8am and 10am services.
