A CLASSIC ROCK CONCERT is the final destination of this month’s Steeple Chasers outing. Head down the road Sat, Nov 4, for a morning drive to Tiffin, Ohio to explore its history and to shop and eat. In the evening we’ll go to the historic 1928 Ritz Theatre to hear the “Hit Men” (each of the 5 band members played in some of rock’s most iconic bands). We will spend the night at a local hotel and on Sunday morning attend the 10 o’clock service at Old Trinity Episcopal Church, where a former minister (Rev. Charles D. Hering, D.D., who was here from 1964 until he retired) served for 22 years before coming to St. James. Can we interest you to join us?! This is time sensitive because you need to buy tickets to the concert and book a hotel room. Reach out to Kate and David Hartwell to learn more about this trip down memory lane! BOAR’S HEAD TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE and going fast! Find them at boarsheadgi.com for performances on December 7, 8, 9, 10. The Grosse Ile Boar’s Head Festival is a 400-person community event with full orchestra, an original score, a choir of 40-50, and many moving moments. It begins in a medieval community where the slaying of the boar represents Christ’s victory over sin and death. It then transforms into a full-blown Christmas pageant that envelops you in the story of Christ’s birth. Featuring Mary, Joseph, Herod, Rachel, Kings, Shepherds, Angels and more, this is a once-every-four-years production that you don’t want to miss! Volunteer roles, costumed and behind the scenes, are still available. Sign up at https://bit.ly/bhvolunteer23 and they’ll reach out.
