FRIDAY FILL-UP EXPANDS!
St. James Church partnership with Grosse Ile Schools continues to expand!  Our service project helps with childhood hunger on weekends.  We began in October with 6 children and are now at 10! We continue to need donations that are in “individualized serving containers” as all food item are sent home with students in a backpack.  We are in need of peanut butter and jelly in small size jars, milk in cardboard cartons that do not need to be refrigerated, soup, mac + cheese, cereal boxes, fresh fruit, etc.  Backpacks are assembled Friday morning in the small kitchen for delivery at 10:30 am.  Feel free to contact Mary Ann Danville.

Welcome to the 4th Sunday of Advent!

CHRISTMAS SERVICES~
Eve @ 4:00 pm with Pageant
Eve @ 10:30 pm with Woodwinds
Day @ 10:00 am in Historic Chapel

BAPTISMS ARE AVAILABLE as part of our January 6 service, as we remember Jesus’ own baptism. Reach out to Fr. Phil if you are interested!

WEBSITE UPDATE: Our church website now includes our photo directory and a master parish calendar. The photo directory is behind a username and password, so please reach out to learn what these are. Find our site at SaintJamesGi.net

THE ANNUAL MEETING OF THE PARISH is scheduled for Sunday, January 28, at 11am in Galloway Hall. This is a celebration of our past year and a looking-forward to what God is calling us to accomplish this year. We will also elect officers and bestow the Alice Award, so don’t miss it!

PLEASE CONSIDER JOINING VESTRY! The “vestry” is the leadership body of an Episcopal Church. It is comprised of 12 members, with four people typically elected each year for a 3-year term. Please consider whether you may feel called to join the vestry this year.
That group works closely with Fr. Phil to chart our church’s future!

ANNUAL REPORTS ARE DUE in the office by Wednesday, January 10. If you lead or coordinate any Saint James ministry, program, offering, or event, please share the Who, What, When, Where, Why, and RESULT in a report fit for printing. Sharing names, thank-you’s, and how your program is helping the Kingdom of God to come near is welcome!

THE CHRISTNET WARMING SHELTER is returning to Grosse Ile in early January. We feed the Downriver homeless and give them a warm place to sleep. Volunteers from the island churches provide dinners and nightly supervision. St. James will be providing the dinner and supervision on Monday. Once the date is determined there will be sign up sheets for food and supervision times in the hallway. Sue Lowery, Interfaith Council Rep, 734-771-2503.
