KRINGLES WILL BE HERE NEXT WEEK by Weds Nov. 20th. Phone calls will be made to those who have ordered to let you know where and when to pick yours up.  There are extras in case you weren’t able to order originally. See David Hartwell or Pete Jett for info.

HAVE YOU SEEN AN ORDAINATION? Our own Erica Benson will be ordained as a “transitional” deacon on Sat, Nov 23 at 11am at our Cathedral (4800 Woodward). All are welcome! She will serve her first Sunday as an ordained person at Saint James on November 24.

FOOD DONATIONS go to kids and our Blessing Box. Thank you for donating regularly to the Food Baskets!

AN ALL-ISLAND THANKSGIVING SERVICE will be held at 7pm on TUESDAY, November 26 at St. Thomas Lutheran Church. It’s a beautiful prayer service where all the island churches come together and give thanks to God for all our blessings. After the service, refreshments will be served while you enjoy friendship and conversation. Offerings collected will go to Christnet.

A CHOIR FOR THE THANKSGIVING SERVICE is being assembled. You don’t need to be a church choir member, just someone who enjoys singing. Rehearsals are at St. Thomas Lutheran at 6:30pm Weds, Nov 20 & Sun, Nov 24.

THE ANGEL TREE IS BACK and we have 38 needy children! Please grab a tag off the tree and bless a child this Christmas season.  Please wrap up gifts and keep the tag visible. Turn in by Dec. 13th. Any questions please contact Natalia at 908-656-0915. Thank you again for all the support!

A CONFIRMATION CLASS PARENTS MEETING will be held next Sunday, Nov 24, partway through Coffee Hour. We’re looking forward to answering all your questions!

“STATION ELEVEN” is our current Book Group book. Come to the Library across from the office on Thursdays at 1:30pm, or join in by reading at home. Here’s the reading schedule… NOV 21: The Traveling Symphony and the Post-Apocalyptic World: up to p. 190; DEC 5: Encounter with the Prophet and the Symphony’s Flight: up to p. 250; DEC 12: Miranda’s Role and the Museum of Civilization: up to p. 300; DEC 19: The Final Confrontation and New Horizons: to the end.

OUR SUNDAY SCHOOL is working on a KINDNESS program to encourage habits of doing acts of kindness every day. The students have been working on creating a “Kindness Quilt” displayed on the wall in the hallway. They post their act of kindness on a paper patch. We encourage anyone to join us in creating the quilt by adding your own kind deeds! You can find 4”x4” paper squares by the quilt. You may design your patch, write down your act of kindness and write your name or leave it anonymous. St. James can lead the way on kindness 😊

FOOD DONATIONS FOR OUR BACKPACK PROGRAM are appreciated! Individual serving sizes are best (e.g. juice boxes, milk boxes, Mac & cheese, cereals, Chef Boyardee spaghetti, cheese and crackers, peanut butter and jelly, etc).  There is a drop-off box in the hallway by the office!

“LISETTE” BOOKS all about the life of our founder, Elizabeth Denison Forth, are available in the office for a donation of $15. These have not been available for decades, so don’t miss this chance to get a copy!
