Thirty-One Bag Party This Sunday, January 25 We will be hosting a “thirty-one” party after the 10:00 service. Our own Patricia Saavedra is a representative for these bags and has offered to help us host a party so that we can use the rewards to purchase beautiful bags with the Saint James logo to serve as welcome bags for new parishioners. Thirty-one has storage solutions, organizational solutions, beautiful totes and purses as well as hundreds of different options and personalization styles.
The New Flower Chart for 2015 is posted on the board in the hallway and there are several dates still available. Flowers can be given for memorials or celebrations. If you have any questions, please contact Linda Kurth at 675-1506.

If you have yet to make plans for Sunday afternoon, January 25, or have been waiting for a better offer to come along, here it is. A free community hymn sing, Beautiful Hymns of Old, is being presented at Saint James today at 3:00 PM.
Many who plan to attend will say they cannot carry a tune but they will definitely carry many happy memories from Beautiful Hymns of Old, the first in a series of Celebration of Song music programs to be presented by Saint James in 2015. Not only will there be beautiful organ music to listen to and beautiful hymns to sing but there will also be delicious hors d’oeuvres and refreshments afterward; all at no charge. Come join us for free music, song, and food. What more could you ask for?! Our Doors Open Wide at 2:30.
The Beautiful Hymns of Old community hymn sing promises to be a joyful one. We can never have too much joy in our lives. Questions or comments can be directed to Dave Hartwell at 313 318-9009 or celebrationofsong@gmail.com.
Pickleball anyone?
Pickleball is a game played all across the country as well as here on Grosse Ile at Parke Lane Elementary School during the winter, and Water’s Edge during the summer. It combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping pong. It is an easy game to learn that is not physically challenging to play. Consider stopping in at Parke Lane one Tuesday or Thursday evening between 6 and 8 PM to watch some games of Pickleball or learn more online at http://www.usapa.org/what-is-pickleball/. If you should decide you would like to play you do not have to buy anything because paddles and balls are freely provided. Don’t forget to wear your gym shoes!!! The court cost to play is only $3.00 for two hours.
Join our Pickleball team! Look for a sign up sheet on the bulletin board by the church entrance. Can you think of a good name for our new Saint James Pickleball team? There will be room on the sign up sheet for your name as well as team name suggestion(s). Talk to Dave Hartwell for more information.
February 7th at 7pm
