It’s time to nominate the ECW Woman of the Year! If you know a woman in the church involved in supporting many of the ECW events and church activities, please drop her name in the box located in the fireplace room. We look forward to recognizing the nominee that deserves this year’s honor. Remember all church women are ECW members regardless of meeting attendance.
Vestry Update Earlier this year we welcomed five new vestry members: Jeff Faistenhammer, Marie Johnson, Mark McPherson and Phil Metz. Returning members include Sylvia Booth, Melva Bonis, Sara Dermody, David Hartwell, Todd Rankine, Richard Stoddard and Lynda VanEngelen.
Honor your Loved Ones on Easter Morning with fresh potted lilies and exultant music. Easter Flower and Music Memorials and Thanksgivings are being accepted now. Names of loved ones will be printed in each Easter Bulletin. Fill out the golden bulletin inserts and return to the office.

Re-imagining The Household of God The 2015 EDOMI (Episcopal Diocese of Michigan) Ministry Fair has been scheduled for May 2. This runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Detroit. The keynote speaker is Tom Brackett, missioner for church planting and ministry development for the Episcopal Church. Also, guests will be able to learn concrete ways of reaching out into their neighborhoods. For more information talk to Jim Holubka, 313-389-1833
Fr. Phil’s Open Office Hours are every Tuesday from 4:30-6:30pm. These are open drop-in hours, so you do not need an appointment. These meetings are usually 30 minutes or less. For a longer meeting call or email ahead to schedule a time.
Join us for a Weekday Eucharist every Wednesday at 10:15am. Wednesdays at 11am join us for “Coffee and Conversation” in Galloway Hall.
An On-going Bible Study is held each Sunday at 9 AM in the Fireplace Room.

“God is With Us” Parish Retreat
The retreat will be held at Saint James on Friday, March 13th and Saturday, March 14th. It will be facilitated by the wonderful Rev. Sally Boelter and is open to all members of Saint James. Sign up sheets can be found on the bulletin board outside the main sanctuary, on the information table outside the main office, and on the table outside the kitchen.

Why did God change the rules with Jesus? How was Judaism a revolution and what can we learn from it in our day? Why has the church so often strayed from the example of Jesus? Who and what is the Holy Spirit, and why do we not know? How can we strengthen our spiritual lives by A) Avoiding the past mistakes of Christianity/Judaism and B) learning from Jesus Christ’s death, resurrection, and example?

Mar 11: SESSION 3 We look at our attempts over the past 2,000 to live the Jesus revolution, focusing on how we have met a major crisis in our understanding every 500 years.
Mar 18: SESSION 4 We seek out what God is revealing to us today about True Christianity, asking why church and society seem to be in such flux in our time, and considering what the answer might be.
Mar 25: SESSION 5 We look at a potential new revolution God may have in mind, and consider how God might intend for the next 3,000 years of Christianity to unfold, especially including the final coming of Christ.

The Downriver Vicariate Dementia Ministry has 3 programs left in their series. The presenter is Carol Waarala, MSW, LMSW who is a medical social worker specializing in Aging and Dementia Education. She has spoken at hundreds of workshops, conferences, churches and elder-care facilities throughout Michigan. Carol brings a wealth of professional, as well as personal experience to her presentations.
