Slide your question under his office door, email them to rector@saintjamesgi.net or text them to 734-775-7140.
IF YOU ARE “KRAVING” to “Give the gift of Kringle!” to a neighbor or a co-worker, or to a member of your family or to yourself this holiday season, you will be pleased to know that there are a few FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED Kringles left in the freezer from the 500+ Kringles that the Men’s Group ordered and sold at our 2 fundraisers this fall. To all of you who have already supported us, thank you. Proceeds from our sales will be gifted to local benevolences like The Blessing Box and the Blessings in a Backpack ministries. Reach out to David Hartwell by texting him at 313 318-9009 with questions about the available flavor(s), and to purchase. Happy holidays.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR JACK HARTLEY is planned for Saturday, January 4, at 11am.
SEAWAY CHORALE WILL BE SINGING here at St. James Church on January 5th, at 3pm. It will be an epiphany concert, and will be comprised of our Christmas Concert. If you were unable to see our main concert, don’t miss this one! It will leave you with a sense of peace and love!
BLESSING BOX ADVENT CALENDAR ~ As we wait and prepare for the celebration of Jesus’ birth on Christmas, this is also a time of reflections on hope, peace, love and joy. May we bring the same feelings to our neighbors in need by giving what we can to the Blessing Box. Check out the Advent Giving Blessing Box Calendar for much needed items. Thank you for your love and kindness.
SNOW SHOVELING ~ We’re looking for one or two volunteers to come into church at 7:30am on snowy winter Sundays to help shovel the sidewalks and throw salt. Please speak to Fr. Phil if you can help.
2025 PLEDGE CARDS can be found online at www.bit.ly/SJ-grateful. Please be generous as we expand our ministries in 2025.
BAPTISMS ARE AVAILABLE as part of our January 12 service, as we remember Jesus’ own baptism. Reach out to Fr. Phil if you are interested!
THE ANNUAL MEETING OF THE PARISH is scheduled for Sunday, January 26, at 11am in Galloway Hall. This is a celebration of our past year and a looking-forward to what God is calling us to accomplish this year. We will also elect officers and bestow the Alice Award, so don’t miss it!
PLEASE CONSIDER JOINING VESTRY! The “vestry” is the leadership body of an Episcopal Church. It is comprised of 12 members, with four people typically elected each year for a 3-year term. Please consider whether you may feel called to join the vestry this year. That group works closely with Fr. Phil to chart our church’s future!
ANNUAL REPORTS ARE DUE in the office by Wednesday, January 15. If you lead or coordinate any Saint James ministry, program, offering, or event, please share the Who, What, When, Where, Why, and RESULT in a report fit for printing. Sharing names, thank-you’s, and how your program is helping the Kingdom of God to come near is welcome!
