Many people are wondering which app is the correct app for the AI that Fr. Phil was talking about. There is only one that you want to get, the rest are imposter apps. On your device search for “ChatGPT” and choose the one shown here. On your computer you can open chat.openai.com or gemini.google.com as both work well. Reach out to Fr. Phil if you have any questions! 734-775-7140 or rector@saintjamesgi.net

ALLELUIA, ALLELUIA! HE IS RISEN!

HAPPY EASTER! Come back next week to find out what happens when the risen Christ visits the disciples and Thomas isn’t there!

WELCOMED IN BAPTISM! Today we celebrate the baptism of  Daniel Frederick Johnson, grandson of our organist Jim Johnson. Congratulations!

THE FRONT PARKING LOT is on the vestry’s radar to be completed this year. It will cost approximately $91,000. To donate toward this project make out a check to “The Crowley Fund” which supports all capital expenditures.

THE OFFICE will be closed this week in celebration of Easter. Call Fr. Phil for emergencies.

A CONGREGATIONAL HOCKEY FIELD TRIP to the Toledo Walleye Game is planned for Saturday, April 13, 2024. – 4pm Departure from Saint James – 5pm Spaghetti Warehouse Dinner – 7:15pm Game time.  $20 Ticket Contact Burdett Milkins 734-790-4942

THE NEXT BOOK GROUP BOOK is a novel about Jesus, Women, and Wisdom by Sue Monk Kid. Called “The Book of Longings,” this book has 4.5 stars on 23,000 reviews on Amazon. People say they have never felt as connected to Jesus’ place and time. As fiction, the book follows Ana, who is married to Jesus. Ana represents the church, which is referred to in scripture as the “bride of Christ.” She also gives us insight into the experience of women in the first century, particularly those who were drawn to dedicate their lives to Christ. The first section of the book will be placed on the resource table across from the office. Our first meeting will be at 10:30am on April 11.

ECLIPSE PARTY AND ROAD TRIP! The Saint James Steeplechasers have been invited to celebrate the solar eclipse with Eclipsopalians at Trinity Episcopal Church in Toledo on Monday, April 8 at their “Totality at Trinity” party.  The church sanctuary is quite spectacular, a potluck lunch will be served, and there is a glorious outdoor plaza for gazing up at the sun through your Saint James solar eclipse glasses.  We plan to get an early start in hopes of avoiding traffic congestion and parking problems — the church is offering us free parking in the attached parking garage, and there is an entrance to the church from the garage.  The solar eclipse timeline begins a little before 2:00 p.m., and the moon completely covers the sun for a couple minutes starting at 3:13 p.m. — see the solar eclipse timeline for Cleveland below.  RSVP to David and Kate Hartwell, your Steeplechasers Road Trip advisors!

THE NEXT MEN’S GROUP BREAKFAST is Sat, April 6th at the St. James Galloway Kitchen & Hall. We always have a great time sharing Stories, Memories, Prayer, and our development towards a higher awareness of Christ. Come at 8am for the cooking, 9am for eating and discussion!

CHRISTNET IS RETURNING TO GROSSE ILE the week of Mar 31-Apr 7.  Christnet provides food and shelter to Downriver homeless people through a rotating collection of churches. During Grosse Ile’s week, each church is responsible for at least one night. St. James is providing dinner and supervision on Monday, April 1. Please sign up on the Interfaith bulletin board in the main hallway. Thank you in advance😀! The guests arrive about 6:30pm, eat dinner, participate in an activity/or not, sleep and return to warming center in Taylor at 6:30am. St. Thomas Lutheran Church (Church and Meridian) will be hosting Christnet this time. If you have any questions, contact Jennifer Engel 734-552-3587 or Karen Overesch 734-552-3714.  0

CHRISTNET IS HOLDING A FUNDRAISER on April 26th at 6:30pm at the Orlando ramilia Banquet Center.  Join them for an adult only evening to support the purchase of a Ford 15 passenger van for ChristNet. The van will be used to transport our guests to appointments, interviews, and to our nighttime rotating shelter. Buffet dinner, cash bar, raffles, silent auctions, and music! Tickets are $50 per person. Deadline is April 12, 2024. Contact Linda or Todd Cleaver for more info at 734-558-9912.

ECLIPSE GLASSES are available on the Resource Table as long as supplies last. The eclipse is Moonday, Apr 8, from 1:50-4:30 p.m., (totality at 3:10).

THE ARK OF GOD by Isabella Swan is available in the display case above the resource table across from the main office. It tells the history of our church! Grab yourself a copy.
