Diagonal Parking Lines Too Tight? The north parking lot has recently been striped diagonally for safety and convenience. Unfortunately many are finding the width of the parking spaces too narrow! Please continue to park diagonally in the North Lot, but disregard the lines, so that the distance between your car and the one next to you is what you feel is an appropriate distance.

A “Dickens” of a time for our Furry Friends
On Sunday, Dec. 21 at 4pm Saint James will once again host the traditional Christmas “Meet Mr. Dickens” show in our historic chapel, featuring Mark McPherson as the fabled author of “The Christmas Carol.”
There will be music, art, poetry, drama, carol singing, and a chance to say “thanks” to Grosse Ile’s Animal Shelter and its T.A.I.L.S. support group. Adding to the festivities will be Larry Crabtree on the Chapel organ, Barry VanEngelen and Father Phil strumming Yuletide favorites, Bruce Luckock dramatically reading, an “early visit” by Father Christmas (aka Rob Speer), and musical and dramatic fun from the island’s own artist-in-residence, Mike Mullen. Of course there will be the “Inimitable” himself, presented by Mark, as the legendary author explains holiday customs and the motivation behind his Christmas classic involving old Mr. Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim, and of course, those famous ghosts!
A free English Tea will be provided at intermission, as will an exhibition of Mike Mullen’s latest art works, including graphics recently created from his 1891 vintage Victorian printing press. All proceeds via a Free Will Offering at the show will benefit our Island League Shelter. So come out December 21 and have a “Dickens” of a time – fun for everyone – bring the whole family!
A big thank you to everyone who helped during this year’s Greens Market!
To all who helped decorate, bake, cook, construct, set up, tear down, workers in each department and during the sale; your time and effort is much appreciated. We couldn’t have done it with out you!
Mother and Child
This image, one of 4 paintings in a series by Erica Chappuis, was chosen for the Episcopal Diocese of Michigan Christmas Card. All four images were available as cards on sale at the Greens Market, and they quickly sold out! How lucky we are to have such a talented artist in our parish.
