“SAINT PAUL And The Founding of Christianity” is the title of this year’s Lenten Potluck/Program. Beginning Wednesday, February 21. Was St. Paul the real founder of Christianity as some people say? Programs begin at 7:15PM, with Evening Prayer at 6:30PM and a potluck dinner beginning at 6:45PM.
“Great Figures of the New Testament” is the topic of the Thursday afternoon discussion group. We meet in the Library at 1:30 p.m. to watch a 30 minute presentation on a great New Testament figure and then discuss. All are welcome.

Annual Meeting Wrap-up
At last week’s Annual Meeting we enjoyed a great potluck coordinated by Lynda VanEngelen who provided tasty sandwich rolls and quiche.
The meeting began with a recognition of Collie Hooper-Yan and Harold Schwochow as this year’s recipients of the “Alice Award,” as people who quietly see what needs to be done and do it.
We honored outgoing vestry, Jeff Faistenhammer, Marie Johnson, Mark McPherson, and Lynda VanEngelen for their excellent work and elected new vestry members: Tom Benson, Laurent Chappuis, Kim Faistenhammer, and Blanche Hutchison. Jeff Faistenhammer was appointed to complete the final two years of an unexpired term. Having been Jr. Warden for Building and Grounds and with much experience with the Capital Campaign projects Jeff was a natural choice to continue our Buildings and Grounds maintenance and development work.
We elected to Diocesan Convention Jim Holubka, Wendy Kiblawi, and Mandy Phillips, and alternates Blanche Hutchison and MaryLou Cartwright.
We passed a budget with a deficit of $25,000 after much discussion. In the past we have often passed deficit budgets and have always found a way to meet the budget at the end of the year, either from unexpectedly generous giving, less than expected spending, careful use of specially designated funds, or a combination of all three. Our Treasurer informed us that the Crowley Fund for Capital Improvements will be less needed this year because of the Capital Campaign, which is also for Capital Improvements. Therefore the parish voted to use the Crowley Fund as a General Fund backup if necessary.
It was a great joy to be together last week to take council for the mission and ministry of the church. Here’s to a healthy and enriching 2018!
