Goodbye June, Hello July!

TODAY IS SEERSUCKER SUNDAY!  Hopefully you dug deep into your closets and pulled out that seer sucker outfit that has been buried in the back. If you don’t have any, no worries!!  Come in your fun summer outfits.

OUTDOOR 10AM SERVICES continue this week! Bring your own folding chair or use one of the church’s metal ones. The summer rain backup is the chapel. Come enjoy the service while enjoying our amazing view!

WANT TO GET INVOLVED WITH ECW?  They will be cleaning the blue chairs on both July 2nd & 6th. Please come to help as you can.  It’s an easy way to help out!

LOOKING FOR SOMETHING FUN TO DO?   Every Sunday night at 7pm there will be a free concert on the commons until the end of August. End your weekend with wonderful music!

THE ASPHALT PROJECT completed! Thanks to Pete Jett, our Jr. Warden for Building and Grounds, for doing such great work. Also, thank you for your patience and understanding while we got this immense project done.

ERICA BENSON, our seminarian, will be preaching at Saint James on Sunday, July 21. She has just “received Candidacy”, which means that she is on track to be ordained as a deacon this November or December and ordained as a priest next May or June. Congratulations Erica!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL IS JULY 29-AUGUST 2! Kids can be registered for free online at www.SaintJamesGi.net  Adults: We need your help! Send an email to vbs@saintjamesgi.net or reach out to Erin Shelton, our VBS volunteer coordinator. The week’s theme is Operation Restoration. It will consider all the ways we can help restore things, including in the natural world and in the Bible!

ICE CREAM SUNDAYS continue today! Following the service we have a cart with a cooler full of popsicles and other treats. Stick around and enjoy.

PLEASE SIGN UP TO HOST THE ICE CREAM CART for next week. The sign-up is just inside the main entryway doors on the magnetic board. We need one household a week to take communion first and then fill the cooler with ice cream. (Some people fill the cooler before the service so the cart is ready to be pushed out right away.) Please sign up on the magnetic board inside the main entrance.

THE ANNUAL FINANCIAL AUDIT is starting soon and Charlotte Campeau needs volunteers! You don’t need to be “number people” to help out!  You will be sorting through a year of statements, organize them  into weekly bundles and choose what should be audited. Please contact Carlottte if you are interested!

BOOK GROUP resumes in mid-July.

HELP WITH BRASS! Have you ever thought of working behind-the-scenes to make things shine? Then brass duty is for you. We are in need of some help in that department. You never have to work alone, it’s Two Thursdays in a row, every few months.(Just a couple hours). If you’re interested in helping Saint James look their best, please notify Diane Mammo or Gwen Douglas and we will get you on the schedule. Training is provided. Thank you in advance.
