A NEW “CHAPEL CHOIR” will debut on Sunday, June 4, at the 8 o’clock service, and you are invited to join in! Chapel choir members can practice at home with the help of videos. You do not have to be able to read music to be in the choir. However, sheet music is available. Call or text David Hartwell for more information at 313-318-9009.

OUTSIDE SUMMER SERVICES AT 10AM begin on June 11. We will gather on the front parking lot facing the river. Folding chairs will be available but you can bring your own folding chair if you prefer. If it is ever raining or below 65 degrees, we will hold services in the main sanctuary.
HELP SETTING UP THE 10AM OUTSIDE SERVICE is needed! Beginning June 11 we will set up the outdoor altar, speakers, and piano around 9:30am. If you can be a part of this set-up team just show up, or speak to Fr. Phil or Jim Johnson our Minister of Music.

COLD BREW COFFEE WILL BE “ON THE MENU” Sunday, June 4 at coffee hour after the 8 o’clock and the 10 o’clock services. Elizabeth Perk in Trenton is brewing it for us, and if you haven’t paid them a visit yet … DO! “To die for” hot coffee, cold brew coffee, espresso and espresso drinks … and also delicious Guernsey ice cream in cones, sundaes, shakes, malts, and affogatos — espresso shot(s) over ice cream! HANDY CRAFTERS UNITE Join us if you have any portable craft and want to share it with others: knitting, embroidery, calligraphy, etc. We’ll focus on our crafts and great fellowship. THE BOTTOMS UP DIAPER BANK annual drive is on June 10th at Kroger from 10 to 4. If you would like to make a baby diaper donation, you can bring them to church and place them in the basket in the hall by the office anytime or drop them off at Kroger on June 10th. To make a monetary donation, please make the check out to Grosse Ile Presbyterian Church with a notation of “Bottoms Up Diaper Bank”, 7925 Horsemill Road, Grosse Ile 48138. Diapers are distributed to registered families through Fish and Loaves Food Pantry in Taylor. PAINTED CHAIRS are being accepted by the Grosse Ile Art Alliance for their Garden and Chair-arty event. Enter a painted chair or any kind of garden art in the silent auction at Island Fest. Details are on the GI Art Alliance website (grosseileartalliance.org)

CAMP CHICKAGAMI SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE. This year’s summer camp sessions include “Family Camp” (June 26-29, “Intermediate Camp” (July 16-21 rising 4th – 7th graders), and “Pioneer Trip Camp” (July 16-21 rising 9th – 12th graders). DEDICATE SUNDAY FLOWERS in memory of a loved one, perhaps on the date they died or on their birthday. There are several open dates available on the Flower Chart for 2023 located in the hallway near the office. The recommended donation is $50, which covers two arrangements used at the 8am and 10am services. Just sign up on the poster and Linda Kurth will contact you to coordinate.
