A SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE for our loved ones who have passed, as well as for the great saints of history, will be held in the Memorial Garden following today’s 8am and 10am services. Immediately after the dismissal we gather in the garden for this 7 minute service. You will receive tiny mementos to dedicate to your loved ones – as many as you need.
EXTRA HALLOWEEN CANDY is welcome in the main office – as much as you have! We have a little “candy ministry” in the office where we keep a basket stocked with treats year-round. Place your extra candy on the desk in the main office and we’ll put it to good use!
LAST FRIDAY’S BONFIRE was awesome! Twenty enthusiastic fun loving folks (adults and kids!) circled up under the light of a beautiful moon and calm pleasant weather to eat, drink be merry, play games, win prizes (see the Holy Moment), tell stories and get to know each other better. It was a wonderful experience! Congrats to Nathan Howes for taking home the trophy for the 2023 St. James Bonfire (Arrrrrr!) “Most Enthusiastic Attendee!” Who’s gonna take home the trophy at the next bonfire?!? Thank you to all who helped out and all who attended!

KRAVING A KRINGLE? The Men’s Group is hosting its second Kringle fundraiser! A Kringle is a pastry of fruits and nuts that also comes in specialty flavors of chocolate, cinnamon, and cheesecake. FRIDAY FILL-UP “BLESSINGS IN A BACKPACK” is a new ministry to help alleviate childhood hunger on Grosse Ile. Every Friday a bag of healthy, pre-packaged food is sent home with needy kids who are identified by school principals and anonymous to us. The bags are returned on Mondays to be filled again. You can help by donating food in the hallway basket or by helping to fill the bags on Friday mornings at 10am. Contact Mary Ann Danville at mdanville1@comcast.net for more information.

Walk or run along East River on Thanksgiving morning for a 1-Mile Kids Dash at 8:30 a.m. or a 5K at 9:00 a.m. We put the FUN in fun run, so bring kids, pets, and strollers, and invite family and friends.
