ESSENTIAL OILS AND THE SCRIPTURES is the title and theme of a Coffee Hour Conversion to be held on Sunday, December 8, after both services. Sue Bell will bring samples of some of scripture’s most important essences, sharing a bit about their nature and purpose. Meet in the Fireplace Room after you’ve gotten your coffee and a treat!

HELP ADMINISTER THE CUP ON CHRISTMAS EVE 4PM ~ We are looking for two people who plan to attend the Christmas Eve 4pm service who could help to administer the consecrated wine at communion. You don’t need prior experience, as we’ll give you a quick & complete training. Please reach out to Fr. Phil or Hu Hermann.

8 O’CLOCKER SNOW SHOVELING ~ We’re looking for one or two volunteers who would be willing to come into church at 7:30am on Winter Sundays when it has snowed. You would help shovel the sidewalks and throw salt so all is ready for the morning. Please speak to Fr. Phil if you can help.

JOIN THE STEEPLECHASERS NEXT TRIP! On Sat, Dec 14, 2024 we’ll take a noontime guided-tour of Christ Episcopal Church, Detroit, share in lunch in a Detroit restaurant, and catch a holiday concert back at the church performed by the Community Chorus of Detroit (4pm) and a concluding reception in the church parish hall. ANGEL TREE TAGS ARE STILL AVAILABLE! Grab a tag off the tree by our main entrance and bless a needy child this Christmas season with a present from your heart. Each tag is for one child; their gender, age, and gift suggestion is listed. Please wrap gifts and keep the tag visible. Turn in by Dec. 13th. Any questions please contact Natalia at 908-656-0915.

GIFT CARDS ARE AVAILABLE to give as presents or to buy presents with. You get the card and St. James gets several percent back. A list of retailers and order forms is on the resource table outside of the main office.  Complete the form and give your check (payable to St. James Scrip——sorry, no credit cards) to Colleen in the office or to Lynn Blanks on the following listed dates. TWO MORE ORDERS will be sent in: Sun, Dec 1, & Sun, Dec 8. Orders can be be picked up the following Sunday after you order or from Colleen during her regular office hours. Thank you!

A WOMEN’S NIGHT OUT is planned for the Tuesday of the Greens Market work week, December 3. At 5:30pm we’ll provide a dinner. Afterwards, all the creative greens, decorations, glue guns, glitter, cones, berries, and Christmas parphanalia will be available for making fun Christmas decorations for the sale. FOOD DONATIONS FOR OUR BACKPACK PROGRAM are appreciated! Individual serving sizes are best (e.g. juice boxes, milk boxes, Mac & cheese, cereals, Chef Boyardee spaghetti, cheese and crackers, peanut butter and jelly, etc).  There is a drop-off box in the hallway by the office!
